I get a lot of questions about how to get a documentary made, how to break into the television
documentary business, and what it's like once you're there, and also — for some reason — about the
history of MTV (of which I know almost nothing). After years of answering them one e-mail at a time, I finally
got the bright idea to collect all the questions and answers in one place. Oh, yeah, and I included the answer

The last segment in my documentary on the
development of the atomic bomb was filmed at Trinity Site, now part of the White Sands Missile Range in New
