Résumé
I've been in broadcasting for more than 20 years, starting as a traffic reporter in San Francisco and working my way up through the news business into documentary filmmaking... and then back into the news business (go figure). Here's the whole story.

Credits
This is a list of all my credits in the time-honored Hollywood format.

Samples
This page offers several samples of my TV and radio writing, producing, directing, and broadcast design work. There's lots of streaming video, plus script excerpts, and some still frames from animation projects.

Blog
For years, I've been cramming my ideas about the practice of journalism down the throats of unwitting (if not unwilling) interns, one at a time. One day, it occurred to me that there might be a wider audience who would find the things I've learned about newswriting, editing, reporting and delivery useful... or at least interesting. Thus I turned a blog about my daily life so self-absorbed that it bored even me, into an ever-expanding collection of practical tips, tricks, links, rules to follow and rules to break in the everyday practice of broadcast journalism.

Frequently Asked Questions
I get a lot of questions about how to get a documentary made, how to break into the television documentary business, and what it's like once you're there, and also for some reason about the history of MTV (of which I know almost nothing). After years of answering them one e-mail at a time, I finally got the bright idea to collect all the questions and answers in one place. Oh, yeah, and I included the answer to the number-one- most-frequently- asked-question about MTV.
