My name is Tim Curran.
I'm an award-winning broadcast and online journalist based in New York
City. I have decades of experience as a reporter, anchor, editor,
producer, manager and newsroom leader. And I've had the opportunity to
innovate in many different areas: radio and television news, reality
programming, documentaries, and newsroom startups.
Starting in 2002, I conceived, founded and led America's first
broadcast newsroom for the lesbian and gay community, working for a
decade as news director and chief anchor for SiriusXM OutQ. Before that,
I spent ten years making TV documentaries and show segments, and helping
to pioneer the reality genre in the early days of MTV's Real
World. And prior to that, I spent a decade in the
trenches of local radio and TV news, as a reporter, producer, news
writer, and video editor.

redesigned the look and revised most of the content.
Before that, the previous update was on February 7, 2008, when I relaunched my blog as a professional, rather than personal, enterprise.
